Dynamic segments group contacts according to rules rather than manual assignment. A segment can combine contact fields, status, lists, tags, numbers, and dates to create a reusable audience.
Create a segment
- Open Kelune CRM → Contacts → Segments.
- Select Create Segment.
- Enter a Segment Name and optional description.
- Choose a Match Type.
- Add one or more conditions.
- Review the matching-contact preview.
- Decide whether to enable Auto Refresh.
- Save the segment.
Choose how rules are matched
- Match All includes a contact only when every condition is true.
- Match Any includes a contact when at least one condition is true.
For example, a customer-retention segment could match all of these rules: status is active, list is Customers, and a renewal date is in the next relevant period. A broader interest segment might match any of several product tags.
Build useful conditions
Available operators change with the field type:
| Condition type | Example operators |
|---|---|
| Text | Equals, contains, starts with, is empty |
| Number | Greater than, less than, greater or equal |
| Date | On, before, after, in the last number of days |
| Status | Is or is not |
| Lists | In any, in all, not in |
| Tags | Has any, has all, does not have |
Add rules one at a time and watch the preview count. This makes it easier to notice a rule that is too broad or excludes the intended audience.
Keep membership current
Enable Auto Refresh when contacts should enter or leave the segment as their data changes. If auto-refresh is disabled, use Refresh membership from the Segments table when you need a fresh result.
The Segments table also shows the contact count, match type, auto-refresh state, and last calculated time. You can edit, export, refresh, or delete a segment from its actions.
