Cloud vs self-hosted
One CRM, two ways to run it. Pick by where it should live.
Kelune CRM Cloud is hosted by us. Kelune CRM Self-hosted runs on your own site. They are separate products with separate accounts and licenses, and each has features the other does not.
hosted by us
Kelune CRM Cloud
Choose it if
- You want to start sending today, with nothing to install
- Your site is not on WordPress, or you would rather not run software
- You need sequences, recurring newsletters, AI tools or several workspaces
hosted by you
Kelune CRM Self-hosted
Choose it if
- Your business already runs on WordPress
- You want contacts in your own database, on your own server
- You would rather pay per site than by list size
Side by side
What actually differs.
| Topic | Cloud | Self-hosted |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A hosted app you sign in to at app.kelunecrm.com | A plugin you install in your own WordPress admin |
| Who runs it | We host it, update it and keep it running | You do, on your own hosting |
| Where your data lives | In Kelune CRM Cloud, kept separate for each workspace | In your WordPress database |
| How email is sent | Your SMTP, Amazon SES, Mailgun or SendGrid account | The same providers, or the WordPress mailer |
| Pricing | Free up to 1,000 contacts; paid plans from $9 a month, sized by contacts and email | Free plugin; Pro licensed per site, never per contact |
| Feature access | Every feature on every plan | Free covers the core; Pro adds dynamic segments, smart links, conditional automation, advanced automation actions and A/B tests |
| Only here | Email sequences, recurring newsletters from a feed, AI tools, an audit log, passkeys and two-factor sign-in, several workspaces in one account (one of them on Free) | WordPress user sync, comment and signup opt-in, and routing your site's other WordPress email through your provider |
| Your team | Invite members; built-in and custom roles | Your WordPress users, with CRM roles |
| Account and billing | A Kelune CRM Cloud account, billed monthly or yearly | A Pro license, billed yearly or once; it does not include Cloud |
Switching later
There is no one-click move between the editions. Export your contacts as a CSV file from one and import it into the other; tags, lists and custom fields map on import. Campaigns, templates and automations are rebuilt in the new edition. The guides cover each step: export contacts from Cloud, import contacts into Cloud and import contacts into the plugin.
