# How to create and use smart links

> Create a Kelune CRM Pro tracking link that redirects contacts and updates their tags, lists or automations when a known contact clicks it in an email.

Smart Links are trackable links that can organize a known contact or start follow-up work when the contact clicks. Each link redirects to your chosen destination and can apply several CRM actions.

> **Note:**
>
> **Plan availability:** Free users can see the Smart Links entry and its upgrade screen. An active Kelune CRM Pro license unlocks the creation, click-action, and reporting workflow documented below.

## Create a Smart Link

1. Open **Kelune CRM → Settings → Smart Links**.
2. Select **Create Smart Link**.
3. Enter a **Link Name** and optional description.
4. Choose a **Link Type**: General, Campaign, Automation, or Website.
5. Enter the destination **Redirect URL**.
6. Choose any actions to run when the link is clicked.
7. Set the link to **Active**.
8. Save the Smart Link.

After creation, Kelune CRM displays the generated tracking URL. Copy that URL for use in supported emails and workflows rather than using the destination URL directly.

## Choose click actions

A Smart Link can perform one or more of these actions:

- Add tags.
- Remove tags.
- Add the contact to lists.
- Remove the contact from lists.
- Trigger automations.

For example, a link to a product page could add an **Interested in Product A** tag and start a relevant follow-up automation.

> **Tip:**
>
> Give each Smart Link one clear purpose. A descriptive internal name such as **Webinar registration – September** makes click reports and later maintenance easier to understand.

## Use and monitor the link

The Smart Links table shows the tracking URL, link type, click count, status, and last-clicked time. Use these details to confirm that the link is active and receiving clicks.

You can edit the configuration when the destination or actions change. Set a link to **Inactive** when it should stop processing new clicks.

> **Caution:**
>
> Test the generated tracking URL with a test contact before sending it to an audience. Confirm both the redirect and every configured tag, list, or automation action.

> **Note:**
>
> Contact actions depend on Kelune CRM being able to associate the click with a known contact. A copied link opened outside its intended contact context may still redirect without applying personalized CRM actions.
